East African Crowned Crane For Sale Now
The East African Crowned Crane (Balearica regulorum) is easy recognized by its striking crown of bristle feathers on the top of its head. These unique and rare birds are known for their energetic mating dance and keen eye sight. They are one of the only types of cranes that have the ability to perch and roost in trees.
Also known as the gray crowned crane, adult birds are tall and slender and have an average height of one meter. Their natural habitat is the marshes and grassy flatlands near rivers and lakes in Uganda and Kenya.
East African Crowned Cranes reach maturity at approximately five years of age. The breeding dance of the East African Crowned Crane involves dancing, bowing, jumping and a honking sound by both sexes.
East African Crowned Crane juveniles are one year or younger. Adults are one year or older.
